I've spent the last hour trying to figure out why my internet is slow.

Seems like my local network/devices are fine and I managed to narrow the problem down to host in Cloudflare's network (which is half of the internet nowadays).

Instead of the healthy ping times of a few dozen ms, I'm getting almost 300ms ping times and over 50% packet loss.

From NIXI (India's NREN) August end ASN transfers, I see roughly 825(x2) ASN were handed out. From AS147316 till AS148966, see https://mirrors.de.sahilister.net/pub/ftp.ripe.net/ripe/asnames/asn.txt.

The number is interesting for me, as from my previous count (for https://blog.sahilister.in/2024/09/educational-and-research-institutions-with-own-asn-in-india/) the number as of now is less than 70 for education/research ASNs.

Niederlande: ASN Köln bei den #Pinksterlanddagen

Das jährliche Pfingst-Treffen, das seit 1933 auf dem anarchistischen Campingplatz in #Appelscha stattfindet, war wieder Versammlungort für hunderte Teilnehmer*innen.

Im Nordosten des Landes an der Grenze zwischen den Provinzen Fryslân und Drenthe gelegen ist das ehemals von Torfstecher*innen bewohnte Dorf zum traditionellen Treffpunkt für Anarchist*innen aus den ganzen Niederlanden geworden.

Drei Tage voller Diskussionen, Workshops, Infotischen, Bücherständen, Gemeinschaftsküche (von #Rampenplan) und kulturellem Angebot ziehen auch immer einige internationale Gäste an. So war neben kurdischen und ukrainischen Organisationen auch das #ASN wieder mit einem Infostand mit (englisch- bzw. deutschsprachigen) Flugblättern dabei.

Unsere Veranstaltung über nachhaltige Gestaltung von Arbeitsplätzen zur sozial-ökologischen #Transformation der Wirtschaft stieß auf reges Interesse. Rund 20 Teilnehmer*innen diskutierten stundenlang über Möglichkeiten und Probleme gewerkschaftlicher direkter Aktionen für globale #Klimagerechtigkeit.

Zahlreiche interessante Gespräche - auch mit Anarchist*innen aus Italien und Belgien - halfen über das kühle und stürmische Regenwetter hinweg zu trösten. Doch die #Klimakrise macht keinen Urlaub...
