I've been #reposting to #loops and I've noticed slight hostility towards reposting.
Like I get it, credit where credit is due, but are you actually going to go off Loops, go to #Instagram or #TikTok and follow the original creator?
Should maybe @dansup update the EULA to demand that people provide links to original content?
Like I'll delete posts if the original creator asks for it, but people act like reposting from absent creators is a bad thing.
Average copyright enjoyer, I guess.

#Loops has now become a repost central for #TikTok and #Instagram, which I'm not sure was the intention.
But then again, #reposting is how you create #meme #culture - for better or for worse.
You get 60s and can finish at any time before which you can repeat in a loop.
But I really see people using the loop as a mechanic of their content. Things like fading logos in and out at the end and beginning of videos - or perfect timing to cause a perceived effect.
There's gold in them there hills.

CW: Boosting good posts from the past?
Occasionally some of my older posts receive a Like or a Boost. This gives me joy --- not out of vanity, but because it adds an element of stabiliy and anti-haste to our conversation. We don't have to respond within the day, we can wait a few weeks or months!

So.. question: is there an open source #contentID system?
Something that could automatically recognise cropping, recognise image flipping, recognise colour variations, etc, from every upload, to spit out a hash you can use to search a database of hashes made from original content.
I was thinking that there are way too many people who copy other people's content instead of #reposting. But what if they are unaware of the #OC? What if you could inform the user and offer them a repost button?

I confess to feeling a need to #apologise if someone expresses an issue with something I write.
I find it infinitely more personally #enabling to edit or remove a post which has got up someone's nose rather than contact the mods on my instance and say please explain its removal.
I put a link to a #GoFundMe in running in a post the other day seeking support for my mental health managing work with #macropods only to them find some random woman had reported it as spam. I hope she's blocked me now because as interesting as her stuff was, I'm better off without people who see the entirety of #Mastodon as their place to express their views of the issue of the day and occasionally post something of her own, but very rarely.
Worst part was her predilection for #reposting shit from #twatter no matter how many times people say not to. I'm starting to block anyone doing that.

I am quite surprised that up to now nobody among the many people coming to the #Fediverse from #Twitter has developed a script or a tool that automates periodic self #boosting and re-boosting of oneβs own posts, to increase #visibility and #discoverability.
I would love to have it, but I must admit my timeline would become absolute hell.
