Бенчмаркая Regex: конструктор показал 10 мкс, первый вызов — 1307

Проверить строку регулярным выражением в .NET можно по-разному, но совет всегда один: включите RegexOptions.Compiled или возьмите генератор. Замеры это подтверждают. А вот подготовка выражения оказалась не там, где её меряют: конструктор занимает 10 микросекунд, а первая же проверка на этом объекте — ещё 1307. Разобрался, куда уходит разница, и заодно нашёл границу, на которой статический Regex.IsMatch резко замедляется.

Но, будем честны перед собой: абстрактные машины - очень просты в реализации. Зачастую вызов состоит в том, чтобы сделать какую-нибудь эзотерическую версию, язык для машины на минималках, и затем ещё и минимизировать транслятор для него. Поэтому поставим задачу со звёздочкой: научимся писать для НАМ в компайл-тайме С++! Для начала, посмотрим: что такое НАМ и что на них вообще можно делать.

Returning to my previous post (https://mastodon.social/@yegorov/116690929213837174), in which I claimed there was no standard way to get the address of a string literal, I was using an old version of Golang, specifically 1.21. In the latest version, 1.26, it turns out you can pass a string literal to the built-in `new` function (https://go.dev/doc/go1.26#language), and it will return its address. I learned this by reviewing the gox library source code (https://github.com/icza/gox/blob/c6a8dcd8b7ea47a9a88ff920940dde82e61dbee9/gox/gox.go#L44).
