    He wrote in the #Forward:

    Perhaps you wonder [why there are] no prices of #Plants.

    If you enjoy a few minutes of relaxation looking it over, it will fulfill its obvious purpose.

    If your interest & #Curiosity are stirred [so] you write us for further information, it will fulfill its #Hidden #Purpose.

    In 1935, Edward & his wife Minnie were featured in a #Quaker State Motor #Oil #Advertisement.

    Edward examines a #Cactus while his daughter Marquetta and son Edward gather around. Minnie is standing behind them, looking on.

    Soon Edward was fielding requests from #Gardeners for more information about his cactus garden. The letters gave Edward and Minnie the #Idea to start a #MailOrder business for their #Plants.

    His #Surprise Apple, from #Kazakhstan, had #Pink flesh.

    At 21, Albert got 640 acres of free #Land (#Ettersburg) & shared his tip to #Maximize the land:

    "How many is 15,000 apple trees?
    Planted 30 feet apart, a row of 15,000 would cover 35 miles.

    But the #Seedlings I grow, are top-grafted on large trees, sometimes 200-300 on a single #Tree."
