The photos with the swans have been taken from my moving packraft with the OM 150-600mm lens. It was challenging to stay still when everything was moving! Also, interesting to see different kind of swans in the same area. 🦢

I broke in the packraft yesterday on Lake Superior. The ice formations are really wild right now.

Note: I was dressed for immersion, etc. This isn't something that you should try without training, skills, and experience in paddling in these conditions.

Anyone out there with a packraft have a good gauge for speed on a mainly flat water river with some rapids to class 2 on it?

I'm planning a trip that involves bikepacking and packrafting, and I need a general idea for planning purposes. I'm thinking ~2.5-3 mph (4-5km/h). The river gradient is ~2.4 feet per mile, and I'm hoping to catch it at a moderate to high flow.

Retkeillään Advanced Elementsin ilmatäytteisillä kajakeilla. Tavaraa on muutenkin helposti mukana niin varapumppukysymys on mietittynyt. Joku pumppu on hyvä olla mukana useamman päivän reissuilla varalta, ettei mene uintihommiksi. Harkittuja vaihtoehdot toistaiseksi:

- normaali iso pumppu (nykytilanne)
- adapteri, jolla saa makuualustan täyttöpussin liitettyä venttiiliin
- sähköpumppu (ehdotuksia?)
- jokin pienehkö mutta suurivoluminen käsi- tai jalkapumppu

The newly added skeg on my packraft really transformed the experience. Before that I got 180 degree turns as soon as I stopped paddling. Difficult if you just want to check something on the map etc.

Now it's really holding the course nicely. <3

I also tried packing the foldable bike on top for the first time. I expected it to be somewhat unstable in the roll axis or harder to maneauver but I rarely noticed a difference.

Now I definetely got the confidence for a first longer trip, up the river with the bike and down with the raft.
