Hi everyone. It’s Giving Tuesday, so I guess we should do a post here about Cycling Guide Foundation — we're not very good at this kind of request! 🤣

As many of you know, Cycling Guide is a free mobile app that provides the best available low-stress, cycling-friendly routes. Cycling Guide Foundation is a registered charity and the home of the app. It’s easy to make a one-time or monthly donation. And we’re now on Benevity, a corporate giving platform that some local company’s use — some of them will even match employee donations!

I wouldn’t have thought it possible for a politician to be more petty, ill-informed, and divisive regarding cycling than Ontario Premier Doug Ford. And yet the Nova Scotia Premier and Mayor of Halifax are determined to shift the epicentre of car-brained wedge politics to Halifax! Boys and their toys!

"Houston said he remains hopeful that ‘common sense will prevail,’ and asked council to reverse their decision by Aug. 6. If that does not happen, Houston said ‘the provincial government will be forced to act’ and use Bill 24 for the first time. The bill was passed this spring but not proclaimed, and allows the public works minister to override decisions by municipal councils related to transportation.”
