I did some election canvassing today, in a Toronto neighbourhood which has had bikelanes installed within the past couple of years.

When asked about the issues people cared about the most, it was a very consistent divide:

- Old men: "You can't drive here anymore! Traffic is crazy! Someone needs to knock sense into council."

- Young parents: "I have kids, so of course I'm really concerned about road safety."

This is such a lovely alley garden! It's sited on what was formerly a parking space for 2 cars. Behind me, running parallel to the rail fence, is the alley which accommodates the occasional car plus frequent cyclists and pedestrians. An informal pocket park that someone has gifted the neighbourhood.

This is so horrible. I’ve spent a lot of time in this area, mostly mountain biking over at El Corte de Madera Creek Preserve and at a music camp at a YMCA up the road from La Honda. It’s such a beautiful treasure in the Bay Area and having it terrorized and ruined by macho car culture is beyond words to me. Another clear cut example of how we don’t hold people accountable because of cars.

I've considered a 360 camera, but I have yet to find a straight up and down mounting option that I like.

Blows my mind that a d*ckhead can drive a car at 140mph because he was in a bad mood, leave a man with life-altering injuries, all whilst uninsured, and be told he can drive again a few years into the future if he passes a harder test.

Driving is a privilege, and if you abuse it then you lose it. This guy should never be allowed a licence again.
