I have a radical thought. What if we treated OCTranspo the same way we treated our roads and just let people ride for free? I bet the ridership would go way up and the roads would then need less maintaining thus that money saved could go for transit. Naw. We love our cars too much.

Something funny about my trip to Brooklyn. Riding the subway, I noticed the train cars were made by Bombardier. So a Canadian company is good enough to make trains for one of the biggest cities in North America, but they weren't good enough for Ottawa? 🤔
Nothing against Alstom really, they make trains for Paris, which is equally big, but still. How could we fuck up so bad? This is why cheapest is not best, and we should prioritize a balance between the two.
