  25. Ottawa City Hall is so fucking broken:

Can't report a streetlight that's out because the web form to report it is also broken. (Also, do I submit it as a "damaged streetlight" or a "malfunctioning streetlight"?!?)

Can't call 3-1-1 because they have "elevated call volumes" 24/7.

If I send an email I might get a response, a few days later, asking me for more information or guilt-tripping me for not using the broken form.

  32. On Saturday, July 25, this private business jet left Colorado, for #Ottawa. On Monday morning it flew over Ottawa. It attracted my attention because of its low flight path and the odd angle it was flying over our house. After flying over Ottawa several times, the C- FPRM flew towards Smith Falls airport. It apparently can land on grass and dirt. After approaches in Smith Falls, it flew to Kars - Rideau Valley Airpark, did an approach there and then returned to Ottawa, where it landed. #ottcity

  38. Heads up: the City of Ottawa had a public meeting on Monday to present plans for reconstruction of Rochester and Booth streets from Gladstone to the 417. They did a terrible job of telling anybody about it.

Anyway, there are plans to add #OttBike facilities on both streets, integrating into the Gladstone Gilmour bikeway (which still has to go to committee for approval... maybe in August)
