You know all those woke-sounding Shopify commercials? I’m plowing through a backlog of #nightvale podcasts and they’re hard to avoid. They sound super touchy-feely and woke. SHOPIFY IS NOT WOKE!

Anyway, if you are a #NightVale fan, and somehow missed A Story About Huntokar, do yourself a favor and listen to it. It is a very heartbreaking story, in addition to explaining everything.
All you need to know going into episode 109 is that the town is extraordinarily weird, and a bunch of pissed off dragons are in the process of completely destroying it.

And coincidentally, it is the exact same thing that made #TwinPeaks weird: the detonation of atomic bombs which caused celestial beings to step in to try to remedy the situation, to only limited success.
And the super weird thing is that both of these long running series revealed that fact at almost the exact same moment!
#NightVale released A Story About Huntokar on June 1, 2017 and then Episode 8 of Twin Peaks The Return aired June 25, 2017.

For anyone who would like to take their mind off things, a fic recommendation:
There's a novel crossover between Welcome to Night Vale and Jim Butcher's Dresden Files, based on the idea that Carlos the Scientist is also Carlos Ramirez, Warden of the West. It is very good and well-written, with complex plot, sympathetic characters, time loops, humor. I love all the Scientist characters.
The wizard sex-ed scence made me laugh out loud. -

My favorite character of all time might be Deb the sentient patch of haze who won't leave the Nightvale radio station until she's allowed to promote Whole Foods. She is at 18:34 in this recording

I've started work on the first draft of my Welcome to Night Vale story, and it's so much fun trying to get into all the various characters voices.
So far Cecil and Tamika have been the easiest. I've introduced Deb (dont ask me why, she just showed up) but havent really had a chance to grapple with her ad just yet.
When I've got a serviceable first draft, Ill put the call out here to see if anyone is interested in beta reading it. So keep your eye out if thats your bag.
Oh and Ill give up this little bit of information, I'm calling it The Librarian Breeding Program.
