I also enjoy #Fluxx, #GiveMeTheBrain, #Scrabble, #TheSettlersOfCatan, Pandemic (that hashtag would be confusing), #ExplodingKittens, #Dixit, and more)
#TheHobbit is still my favourite book, but I also like #MissMarple, #Poirot, and #SherlockHolmes. #TheHitchhikersGuideToTheGalaxy series is great. So is #Discworld by #TerryPratchett. Enjoyed #EarthSea series.

¿Sabían que el éxito de DuckTales salvó la animación televisiva de Disney y cambió las reglas de las caricaturas vespertinas?
A mediados de los años 80, la industria de la animación en televisión estadounidense estaba saturada de producciones baratas financiadas casi por completo por la venta de juguetes. La compañía Disney decidió arriesgarse con una estrategia diferente al producir una serie basada en los cómics cláscios de Carl Barks sobre el Tío Rico, pero con un presupuesto enorme de 285,000 dólares por episodio, una cifra que duplicaba lo que gastaba cualquier competidor de la época. En lugar de vender el proyecto a las cadenas tradicionales para los sábados por la mañana, la empresa optó por la sindicación independiente, vendiendo los 65 capítulos iniciales directamente a estaciones locales para transmitirse de lunes a viernes por la tarde.
El estreno oficial ocurrió el 18 de septiembre de 1987 con una película para televisión de 2 horas titulada El tesoro de los soles dorados. La enorme inversión económica se reflejó de inmediato en una calidad de dibujo y fondos que no se veía en la televisión abierta, además de contar con una banda sonora grabada por una orquesta real en lugar de usar los sintetizadores comunes de los años 80. El rotundo éxito de audiencia demostró que el público infantil buscaba historias de aventuras complejas y bien animadas, abriendo el camino para crear el famoso bloque de programación vespertino conocido como The Disney Afternoon y rescatando la división televisiva del estudio.

I love it when they put in grown-up jokes like that.
Also, they had Jennifer Hale guest-starring as an assassin! She has, like, two lines, but hearing my #GuildWars2 fem-sylvari main's voice somewhere else always makes me happy.
As for the series itself: I've only seen the pilot two-parter, but it's funny and well made. Bit over the top sometimes, but that's alright.
