She also said in June 2021, that it was wrong to protect the elderly during the COVID-19 pandemic as in her opinion it only had a short-term impact on the "longevity of older people" and that emphasis should have been on "the long-term impact of lockdowns on young people's lives".

Listening to #r4today on the wireless this morning, I learn of a new Tory faction - the #NewConservatives - who among other things wish to slash immigration by raising the minimum salary for a #SkilledWorkerVisa to near 40k English Groats.
As well as decimating the #NHS, this would kill off #science #research, where the starting salary for new postdocs is less than the proposed minimum for visiting contract researchers. You can think of them as the #JuniorDoctors of academe.
