my brain is so funny, every 12-24 hours i get tired of the same font on my sourcecode editor, so i've taken to rotating amongst 4 or 5 different monospaced fonts every 12-24 hours or so... right now my list is (in no particular order)
- consolas
- noto mono
- courier new
- deja vu sans mono
- ubuntu monoare there any other good ones i should try? :)

Immer wieder erstaunlich, wie viel Herzblut Schriftdesigner wie #FabrizioSchiavi in winzige Details eines Fonts stecken. Schön zu sehen, dass es nach Jahren mal wieder ein Update gibt. Ich bereue keinen Cent, obwohl es vermutlich eine der unnötigsten Investitionen meines Lebens war. The GitHub Monaspace fonts, release v1.2 is a 948 MB download. That has to be the most massive font release I’ve ever seen. Are all Noto fonts together even as large as that?

i remember seeing a page for a #monospaced #font designed specifically for displaying #asciiart, but i can't find it now :-(
its goal was to be compatible with many different types of ascii art, like it had long slashes and backslashes for amiga, the entire set of unicode legacy computing characters, etc.

@dyani I think it's less a matter of caps or not - people like @fuchsiii would say that abolishing caps would increase readability - but IMHO a matter of #font / #typeface.
#OpenDyslexic and some other fonts really make it easier to identify letters and help people read.
Personally I prefer #monospaced fonts and I could accept either #AllCaps or regular typing as long as it's consistenty used.

@mos_8502 Personally, I'd use only Ubuntu Mono or similar but neurotypicals will go apeshit on #monospaced fonts so I think #OpenDyslexic and other #accessibility-optimized fonts would be great...
Also one would likely need a font with all the #unicode characters in cuz otherwise CJKTI* - languaged people will rage about this decision when there's no legitimate reason for it.

Input Mono and Berkeley Mono are duking it out for best mono.
(Worst mono is what I had in 2006 and I just slept for days.)

@malanalysis FYI: the reason for the two spaces was because #typewriters are #monospaced, two spaces broke up the sentences visually for easier reading. Since that limitation is no longer the case, and periods, commas(punctuation) are kerned left, only 1 space is needed. So 1 space on computers, 2 on typewriters is the correct way to do it. (look at every period/comma here.)
