Checking to see if anything has changed with #Framework and #Omarchy and just finding YouTube videos of white guys with beards justifying Framework collaborating with straight-up Nazis and dismissing the concerns of "leftists." As much as I want that new Framework laptop, there's no way I'm going to buy from a company that feels comfortable doing business with unabashed white supremacists. Too bad the #MNT Reform is way beyond my budget.

This is the year I really need to order a #MNT Reform or #MNT Pocket Reform but I still can’t decide which one fits better #mntreform

So #Bitwig supports Apple's arm-based architecture for macos and at least has/had beta support for Windows 11 on arm, but famously portable Linux only gets supported on x86_64. This was more of an academic point when I initially complained about this (half a decade ago) because I was picturing running a stripped down stem-only project on a raspi. But arm-based Linux laptops and gaming consoles are making more and more sense as time goes on. I want to some day run Bitwig on an #MNT dammit!

http://reform.debian.net is back from the dead after 4 months of a break due to a missing stable backport of reform-tools (got removed from testing because of unrelated RC bugs). There is a load of new features for those who use kernel 7.1.3 and reform-tools 1.88 from trixie-backports:
* QUASAR (Qualcomm QCS6490 and QCS8550)
* Reform Next
* MNT Station
* mnt-sc module for Pocket sysctl 2.0
* EFI booting
* allow no flash-kernel
* hardware video decoding (RK3588) -
heh... UPS lost my #mnt pocket yesterday and then found it after a lot of phone calls with them... only for the next courier who delivers it the last part of the journey to lose it...
I have no idea where it is.

Has anyone made a playlist of music made on #MNT hardware? If you know of any tracks specifically made on the Reform or Pocket Reform can you please share them with me?

The keyboard from the MNT Pocket Reform mini-laptop is now available as a standalone device. It's a compact mechanical, ortholinear keyboard with support for swappable keycaps, RGB backlighting, a tiny trackball, a little OLED screen and USB-C connector. https://mastodon.social/@mntmn/116969445180655867 #MNTPocketReform #MNT #Keyboard

The MNT earrings were amazing for the #underscores concert a while back (though basically fully lit up when it was loud). #mnt

#mnt #mntreform

If I had indefinite amounts of money I would pay #mnt to make a retro-gaming version of pocket reform where you would plug processor modules in like SNES cartridges.
Or maybe a C64 form factor would be better, with cartridges plugging in to the side.
Something like that.

Wow, the open hardware #MNT Reform camera is really cute and tiny! I love that (in contrast to my current webcam) it has a UNC 1/4 inch mount so that I can put it on a tripod to record my lectures better. This is also the first time that I made a video recording in 2592x1944. The manual focus is also just what I wanted and it's made from CNC milled aluminum! Additionally, as you can see in the photo, I have painted my nails again. My daughter (5) commented: "Daddy, that red color so strong!" ♥️

Unix: Amix graphics card driver for MNT VA2000
Amix, Commodore's Amiga Unix, can now also utilize the MNT VA2000 graphics card. The project consists of two parts: the driver itself and an X11R5 server with the corresponding RTG support.
In addition to Amiga Unix version 2.1, firmware version 1.9.0 beta 2 is required for the graphics card operating in Zorro II mode.

Next step for the #MNT Reform Keyboard 4.0 trackstick mod: The Sprintek SK8707-01-005 works well with a RP2040 flashed with QMK. Thanks to @gordon I found the magic patch which made it work very smoothly. Link to that patch and my full diff to QMK here: https://github.com/josch/qmk_firmware/commit/56d908063fc2641c6257c13ad23b8f072cb37579

MNT shares its April 2026 Update. https://mntre.com/media/reform_md/2026-04-30-april-update.html #MNT #LinuxComputers #LinuxLaptops
Great news and a good hardware company. I just bought a monitor from them to send some money their way until I need my next Linux computer. -

oh wow an #OSHW track point! Someone should work on integrating this into a #MNT Reform keyboard asap!

Just finished talking to a class of 30 students at TU Berlin about Open Source Hardware and my work at #MNT. As a part of a class led by @jcolomb and two others. It was a trippy experience trying to describe this whole world of alternative tech to a group of people who had just tried `git` for the first time mere minutes earlier. #OSHW
