Ending the 25 April 1997 skip: Michelle Gayle - "Sensational"
Calling your song "Sensational" is a hostage to fortune. Calling your album "Sensational" is brazen. Michelle lived up to the billing she'd set herself.

Followed by the best-seller from Robert Editorial Reasons.
Right, that's quite enough skipping, I've got to untie this rope from around my feet.
Top of the Pops resumes at 7pm on BBC4 and #TOTP.
"Do you know" - Michelle Gayle
Following up the success of her eponymous album, Michelle returns with a bouncy, breezy, optimistic pop song.
Absolutely huge in the nightclubs over Christmas, easily deserved its huge sales. Capital FM were probably playing it right at this moment.
Remember "Wolfblood" on CBBC? Top-drawer young adult fiction about people who can transform into wolves. It's an allegory, and very much worth another look (on eye-player now).
Anyway! One of the shapeshifting grown-ups in "Wolfblood" is played by Michelle Gayle, who had a massive hit with "Sweetness".
Here she is on #TOTP from 1994.
