#03 (2025-06-01) #MetroidFusion #randomizer
I recall not really feeling up to any sort of #speedrunning back in the day and just going for completionism instead, so there's a distinct possibility that this is my first time actually clocking in at less than 2 hours in this game.
Anyway, generating these randomized runs via #Randovania and the #m4rs code/functionality.
Might look into how to implement door lock randomization in the future, but happy with the regular dev builds now.

Oh. Turns out I haven't played a full game (aside from some #MetroidFusion randomizer I forgot to toot about) since Sonic Origins in January.
Anyway, it might just have been a long time since I last played it, or maybe there are translation differences from the PAL version I used to play? A lot of really awkward English lines, regardless.
But it's a great Zelda game. The blueprint for OoT.

I did it! I beat Nightmare in #MetroidFusion. Damn this boss is hard. 😬
I kinda figured out a semi-reliable tactic to kite it around the screen during the long final phase, but it still took me multiple attempts and I lost tons of health anyway.
I made it to the next save room, so I don't have to beat it again. That's where I'll leave it for today. 🙂 -
I took a break from Rocket Knight Adventures and finally put some real time into #MetroidFusion. I've started the game at least three times in the past, but I was never quite in the right mood. It fits perfectly right now.
I made it to the boss fight with Nightmare, which I think is more than halfway through the game. I breezed through the early game, but the later bosses are surprisingly tough. They are quick, hit like a truck and can take a serious beating. 😬
Didn't get time to play today, but I intend to continue soon. -
Just hit credits on #MetroidFusion and I absolutely adored my time with it. It gets surprisingly difficult towards the end, but with the ability to save state whenever I want I was able to push through some of the more frustrating moments.
All in all, I fantastic experience that only makes me more interested in playing more games in the franchise (I'm at two now, this and Prime).
As for my lil' handheld, wow. I never thought I'd say a GBA game looked amazing, but it did, and it's made me so much more enthusiastic about hitting up that consoles back catalogue.

Having an absolute blast playing through #MetroidFusion over the last few evenings.
This is my first real experience with a Metroid game that isn't from the Prime series and I'm absolutely loving it.

So I think I'm going to continue my 'retro journey' with some #MetroidFusion.
As with many of these games, I've played it before but when I was much younger and frankly didn't give it a fair shake.

I completed #MetroidFusion! yet another #Metroidvania for the year! I had already played this but I never thought I could actually dedicate the time to try and fully complete it...
I really wanted to 100% the items but I got unlucky with two missable ones. Sad, but it's alright. Maybe next year.

Finished playing #MetroidFusion with a good friend last night. Still as scary and atmospheric when first played it in 2002 on my unlit #GBA. :awesome: Controversial opinion: while I can see the qualities and importance of #SuperMetroid I prefer Fusion for its accessibility and top-notch atmosphere especially backed by its fantastic music:
