    I have finally been playing through all of #Metroid2 on the Switch Game Boy emulator, and I cannot get over how GOOD it is! When I watched people play it, I heard complaints about the controls and whatnot, and I wouldn't recommend it over AM2R for a new player, but it holds up way better than I was led to believe (I daresay better than Metroid 1 in some respects) and has sucked me in as well as any other game in the series. (1/2)

    Back in 2016 #Nintendo tried to bully the #Metroid2 remake #AM2R out of existence to keep it from harming sales of their own - imho vastly inferior - remake. This has worked as well as could be expected, with a thriving community now taking care of AM2Rs further development recently having released a launcher that automates updating the game with every new release. Companies should find ways to genuinely embrace their fandom instead of alienating them with such stunts.
