I've been regaining some cognitive tolerance lately, so I'm tipping my toes into "proper" gaming again.
I did a bit of research which games might be suitable (not too much cognitive load or focus, still fun and engaging) and ended up with #ChronoTrigger.
It might be the most praised SNES games that I have never played so far. Due to its production history, it also looks similar to a beloved classic of mine: #SecretOfMana.
So far it's quite promising. :)

Man, I loved #SecretOfMana as a child. It’s a shame the series has been treated this badly. Poor remakes and bad series titles.
The game wasn‘t perfect but I would have loved to see what the game would have looked like if it had been released on a disc instead of a cartridge.

Früher habe ich vereinzelt Episoden von #MonsterRancher geschaut, Jahre später erinnerte ich mich nur noch an das Titellied. Es war und ist bis heute besonders für mich, obwohl ich nie ganz genau wusste worum es eigentlich genau geht.
Inzwischen ist der #Anime synchronisiert streambar und auch auf DVD zu bekommen. Ich habe mir die erste Staffel angesehen und was soll ich sagen?
Den #Plot als solchen finde ich gut, denn der ist deutlich düsterer als der von #Pokémon oder #Digimon und auch vielschichtiger.
Zwischendrin gibt es leider öfter Quasi-Wiederholungen von Szenen, hier und da über mehrere Folgen hinweg keinen Fortschritt im eigentlich Sinn und gefühlt recycletes und nur leicht abgewandeltes Material. Als Kind hätte mich das vielleicht nicht gestört, aber heute finde ich es schade und teilweise auch nervig.
Manche Sachen passieren einfach, werden aber in meinen Augen nicht ausrechend tiefergehend oder überhaupt nicht in irgendeiner Art und Weise erklärt. Das ist schade, ich sehe da viel Potenzial das nicht gehoben wurde.
Humor und Emotionen bekommen einen ausreichenden Platz. Die Figuren als solche gefallen mir insgesamt gut, könnten aber noch feinere Charaktere brauchen. Es hätte dem ganzen auch keinen Abbruch getan wenn mehr von ihnen weiblich gewesen wären.
Zwischendrin fühlte ich mich gut von meiner eigentlichen Umwelt abgeschirmt, was ein fiktionales Werk meiner Meinung nach besonders auszeichnet. Also wenn ich da voll eintauchen kann, angezogen werde und vergesse wie die Welt eigentlich aussieht.
Obwohl die Serie auf einem Videospiel basiert, habe ich dieses nicht im Sinn gehabt während ich Genki und den anderen zusah. Sondern #SecretOfMana - was ich auf dem SNES gespielt hatte. Vielleicht weil ich mir ein paar Parallelen einbilde oder zumindest starke Assoziationen habe. Das Spiel Monster Rancher selbst interessiert mich bis heute nicht.
Aber die Handlung des in #Europa bzw. #Deutschland als #SecretOfMana vermarktete #Rollenspiel dürfte auch gerne ein kleiner Anime werden. Ich würde ihn mir so gerne ansehen, obwohl ich grob weiß was passieren und wie es ausgehen wird. Die damals dazu produzierte Werbung findet sich auf YouTube und das Internet ist voll mit beeindruckendem #Artwork. Die Reichweite ist viel größer und Fangemeinde global betrachtet vermutlich deutlich größer, es wäre toll wenn ein #Studio sich daran versuchen würde.
Ich kenne mich in der #Bubble gar nicht aus. Wenn jemand eine #Empfehlung für einen Anime hat, der (gerne auf deutsch synchronisiert) dem ganzen nahe kommt oder an den ihr denken musstet: Immer gerne her damit. :) -
