Woohoo! I have emerged triumphant from the Catfish's Maw. A really twisty dungeon - I feel like I went through every room four or five times before managing to wrest its secrets out of it.
Beat the boss with half a heart left, which was pretty nerve-wracking.
And is the Zelda hookshot not one of the most fun video game items of all time?
I've been playing Link's Awakening DX (that's the Gameboy Color version) over the last few weeks. I played a little as a child but got stuck and couldn't figure out how to progress.
I'm about halfway through and finding the difficulty of the current dungeon (Catfish's Maw) hard work. So! I have got back and hunted for secrets and levelled up my equipment.
Very satisfying. Now to venture once more below the waves...
Finally getting back to Zelda: Link's Awakening DX! ... I don't remember much. AHHHH!

J'ai remis la main sur ce dessin que j'ai fait enfant, il y a presque trente ans. J'étais fan absolu de Link's awakening depuis qu'on me l'avait offert, et cette passion a duré de longues années (et dure encore).
Une chose me chagrinait toutefois, c'était la topographie de l'île et les différences entre les vues d'artistes et son rendu dans le jeu. Alors j'ai pris mes crayons et j'ai modifié la carte.

Back when #OcarinaOfTime was about to release (and when it was in development), I recall it was referred to as #Zelda4 by the video games magazine I read. #LinksAwakening wasn't counted, as it was perceived to be a spin-off title, similar to Super Mario Land.
I was curious about what the consensus is in 2025, but it turns out search engines just return Four Swords Adventures when searching for "Zelda 4".

Just finished playing Link's Awakening (remake) on Hero mode! I think I even unlocked the "true" ending.
Also got all the awards for the more difficult mini game (Rapids Race).
I am very proud of myself—especially about the Rapids Race.
And I'm thankful my boyfriend suggested I try Hero mode after I finished on normal mode. This was only my second time playing a game like this. I thought I wasn't ready for the hard stuff!

Another #OffTheBacklog #SuperMarioRPG #Switch I never played jRPGs as a child. Even without nostalgia I enjoyed the refreshingly short 20 hrs to max level my entire party & get to credits. This's a great introductory jRPG & deserving of its beloved status. There's a TON to do after the credits but I'll be moving on. You can toggle retro/updated soundtrack but don't expect anything like the orchestral #LinksAwakening remake I'm so bad at isometric platforming #gamer #gaymer #jrpg #rpg #backlog
