Callout to any French retrogame fans who perhaps might still have (or have access to) French game magazines from 1993:
I am trying to find the approximate release date of Alone in the Dark 2.
All English sources I am aware of only know that it came out in 1993, but released in America only a year later. I assume the French version would have been first, but I have no information about the month or week.

Just played Alone in the Dark 3. Not recommended.
Mechanically, no significant improvements over the second. Less focus on combat is gratefully welcomed, but it seems to have been balanced against even fewer sensible puzzles.

Just played Alone in the Dark 2. Not recommended.
Despite a few quality-of-life improvements, the sequel is even worse than the first. Bafflingly leans into the horrible combat, making the game both more frustrating and less scary. As frequently noted, the protagonist of the second is "neither alone nor in the dark."

Oryginalna trylogia „Alone in the Dark” w giveawayu na GOG-u. Nie sądzę, że mam zdrowie jebać się z czołgowym sterowaniem tam, ale wziąłem.
W pierwszej części grałem tą laską i można było chyba nadać imię, a może to były tylko sejwy, ale w każdym razie nazwałem ją Ewa Braun, bo mi jakoś sensownie brzmiało. Dopiero wiele lat później dowiedzieć się, kim była.
A trójkę miałem oryginalną, z CD Action, to nawet słuchałem ścieżek CD audio na odtwarzaczu. Był taki fajny motyw na drumli bodajże.
Anyway, może ktoś się skusi. Może się przydać za parę lat, jak RAM wywinduje tak, że nas będzie stać co najwyżej na Raspberry Pi, żeby emulatorek grania odpalić (chociaż myślę, że Pico-8 bym też poeksplorował).
PS Dwójki nigdy nie grałem.
