Getting #AM2R running on my #Anbernic #RG35XXSP feels like playing an unreleased #GBA #Metroid entry and it's awesome.

Using #MuOS and #PortMaster of course.

For those who don't know, there's a #Zelda II PC port making the rounds on reddit. While this can be considered a recreation, the developer translated the zelda 2 disassembly to #Gamemaker language, so it really feels like a 1:1 to the original gameplay, just with quality of life improvements, like better organized and extended maps, widescreen, etc.

For now, the menus are barebones just like in the original, but you can still complete the whole game as it is.

If you're going to try it, i recommend you to not talk too much about the game in places like twitter or youtube; we don't want Nintendo to pull the same tricks they did with #AM2R ;)

I finally got my AYN Odin handheld, the first game I want to play is the fan-made #AM2R

Back in 2016 #Nintendo tried to bully the #Metroid2 remake #AM2R out of existence to keep it from harming sales of their own - imho vastly inferior - remake. This has worked as well as could be expected, with a thriving community now taking care of AM2Rs further development recently having released a launcher that automates updating the game with every new release. Companies should find ways to genuinely embrace their fandom instead of alienating them with such stunts.
