  1. If we could just get the leaders of Israel, Iran, and the USA into one room, to talk out their differences... then it would only take a single drone strike to bring peace in the Middle East

(at least until the next crisis starts up)

  5. Why do #Memri spell everything so weirdly? Almost nobody spells it as #Hizbullah ? The most common spelling seems to be #Hezbollah ? As I added those tags it was 1 per week and 31 per week, respectively.

I wonder a bit of they do this to make things harder to fact check, or skew search results?

  6. It seems even #GhaziHamad says things that aren't totally nuts if you look outside the cherry picked collection on sites like #Memri

#MachineTranslated screenshot of an Arabic language website that seems to be based in #Iran

Not linking the site, because a lot of the other stories are hyperbolic pro #Khamenei propaganda or have some very graphic violent videos. Ghazi is also #propaganda but newsworthy for the interesting contrast to every quote i see in #WesternPropaganda

  11. CW: War حرب

This is the sort of thing that the people celebrating on 7 October saw. youtube.com/shorts/AM-cN4vXX1U

They saw a different half of the story to what was seen by the people who found their celebration offensive.

The world is watching two very different wars.

Websites like #Memri that show this stuff out of context are some of the worst hate sites on the internet.

    #7Oct #7October

  12. The name #MEMRI is an English acronym phonetically translated into Arabic on their logo
    #ميمري

and that is really weird for anything coming from an Arabic language background?

A half arsed background check on that website implies to me that the vibe i got from it was not unfounded en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yigal_Ca he's ex Israeli military and based in the USA #YigalCarmon

Even if each individual piece on there is correctly labeled and accurately translated, they're compiling a collection designed to push an agenda?

and from that wiki this theguardian.com/world/2003/jan I'm not the only one seeing that vibe "My problem with Memri is that it poses as a research institute when it's basically a propaganda operation" #BrianWhitaker

  13. What do red poppies mean in #Palestine ?

Images at the start of this #animation are symbols of death in my culture, but are they deliberately ominous in this or a weird coincidence?

A girl named #Gaza throws a rock at a soldier and gets shot, but the #poppies and angel wings etc. are all before that happens.

The #Memri website claims it's a kids' cartoon, but that website seems dubious?
