As mentioned in the first post I made on this instance, had some fine-tuning to do. Added a REL="Me" to my Gravatar profile, so hopefully my Mastodon account is verified now. Being blind, I have no clue if that's actually the case, so hopefully a sighted person is willing to check & confirm this for me. How long does that usually take to #propagate ?

I feel like I've had the code on my site(s) for a couple of days now.
I've since installed a #wordpress plugin that supposedly does it for you. whatever. it's just an anchor with a #rel attribute. haha.

But just wondering about when those #burgers might be ready.

Ah-ha!!

Thank you. So after going through the process of getting #Certbot installed (and #Apache configured correctly) on my free #Oracle VM (which took me far longer than necessary), I had my #https address.

But no verification still!!!

Until, I read the instructions again and followed the advice of deleting my profile link to my site, saving the profile, and then adding it back in (and saving my profile again).

I support this platform, but Mastodon also needs to accept it has a big problem with fake accounts. I can't actually find the official Washington Post account that verifies via washingtonpost.com (as just advertised on Twitter by the Mastodon Twitter account, hence why I searched). #Mastodon #mastodonverification

Anyone have tips for #mastodonverification on a premium #wix account? I noodled and didn't figure it out yet and am looking for a shortcut to avoid more noodling. #verification

@cooltxchick Having said that, I just found that my own efforts to self-verify don't seem to have shown up in my profile, so I'm not sure how to fix that. Anybody at @SDF got a clue? I've checked the meta data on my websites and the Mastodon data is there.

I've been trying to get mastodon verification from a website I built. I added the micro format rel="me" backlink in the footer of the site. But it's not showing as verified. Why is this? Is there a delay in it appearing?

you can #verify your #mastodon account with a modified anchor tag on your homepage and then setting the link in your profile as "Profile metadata"
