@Kalle27 I use #TuskyApp and it shows me a language code below toots I read and gives me a language code I can select when I write toots.

The #MastodonAndroid app I find in f-droid (2.9.4) doesn't seem to do that, but I see someone reported a bug in that functionality so maybe a newer version does ? https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon-android/issues/947

@pachli The experimental reverse timeline is generally working very well, thank you! But when I exit the timeline and then return to it, I always find myself further back in the timeline than I was when I left. This might or might not be connected to new posts having appeared in the part of the timeline I've already read.

Please recommend a Mastodon app for android to me!

I use the official one currently, but it lacks a lot of features compared to the web client and a pretty serious bug I've reported hasn't gotten any reply in nearly a year. (I'm not blaming any individual for this, rather I'm frustrated at the state of system.)

I've tried tusky and didn't like the UI. What else is out there? What do you like? What don't you like? Why?

@mastodon_mobile_apps Not a huge fan of this update. The extra section in the article preview card at the bottom, with the name of the author, to me, suggests that tapping it will bring me to the author's page.

Also, there must've been a change to the username area (highlighted in the screenshot for visibility). Whenever I want to tap the text of the post to view it, I end up opening the profile of the person posting instead. Not a great user experience.

The Mastodon Android app gives you no way to mute a hashtag

You can follow/unfollow a hashtag

You can follow/unfollow a profile

and mute/unmute a profile

but you cant mute a hashtag. nor can you mute based on any words or phrases in a toot

hopefully the devs will add that feature soon

I never really thought about following hashtags before, but it's pretty easy. Just do a search for the hashtag and you should see a follow icon. But it doesn't seem to work in the Mastodon client for Android, so use another client like Tusky

Ok, taking a break from granite spam to report a software bug. If I select an image to post on mastodon from inside the app and upload it, then realize I want to add more and try to do so, it instantly crashes the second I finish selecting my second round of images and push "select" on the file selection dialog. How do I report this most effectively? I've been able to reproduce it 100% of the time now.
