#Elefeed was created to experiment with new ways to manage and view content on #mastodon

Today we released a new way to interact with replies to posts without having navigate away from your main feed, all inline.

The idea is to allow users to more easily read conversations in an organized way, reply or interact all without large navigation changes.  Give it a try!

Been experimenting with a way to browse post replies right within the main feed as a threaded view.  You can click on each post or navigate using A or Z to go up and down.

Feedback would be awesome before I get to far down the rabbit hole on making sure it's all wired up.

Posting from phanpy.social for the first time, I really like it! It's a website that lets you read and post to the Fediverse. My favorite iOS app, Toot!, may not be around forever and I've never found a solution I liked as much. But this might just be it. I'm especially liking the view where you can see what the folks you're following have posted in the last hour, and you can filter out boosts and only see their original posts. The ease of accessing lists is nice too.

I was curious what it's like to post photos from the site, so here's Cal last night, sitting on a bag for some reason. Such a goofball. If he fits, he sits. The alt description field in Phanpy is big and easy to use, I like it a lot, and the image was easy to upload.

Does anyone know how to fix the official #mastodonapps translation not working? It works fine on html or #Tusky but gives error on the official Android app🤔

Recommendations for Mastodon apps. I use Tusky a lot, but now that my instance lets me Boost or Quote toots, it doesn't seem to support quoting. Maybe this feature is in the pipeline?

Making sound packs for #Mona is super easy and anyone can do it. All you need is wav files. You need only 8 files for a soundpack instead of 26 for Tweesecake. If you want to make new soundpacks and you don't want to have to do too much work, making them for Mona is simple.
Here's what you do, make a folder on your computer, put 8 sounds inside the folder and label them for the different notification functions you want them to be used for and put them on your phone, then, open files and open mona, you'll need both apps open for this next process. Once you put the folder in files, you'll need to unzip the folder if it isn't already unzipped. Go to Mona, go to settings, customize and then click sounds, find the account you want the custom sounds for and click on it, then, click add sounds. It will go to the folders on your phone, click on the folder that was unzipped, it should not say .zip at the end, open it, inside that folder, it should appear with your 8 sounds, select all those sounds and then click open, once open is clicked, they will be added to the list of sounds you can use to make all your notification sounds unique to you. My Ivory subscription is up for renewal in a couple weeks so decided to give the official Mastodon client (iOS) a test for a few days to see if it works well enough to switch back over.

I could get on with it if I had to, but I’m definitely sticking with Ivory. My main issue is the way the official app doesn’t seem to remember your location in the feed and when it loads new posts, skips way ahead making you scroll back down.

There’s an amazing plethora of apps that make using this platform amazing, and I am happy to have paid for quite a few.

I wonder if the next major frontier is interfacing with donations to the supporting the server and mastodons development. I have several friends who thought paying a subscription to an app meant they were also supporting their instance and masto API development… I hope app developers make that a reality someday!

I’m looking for a great desktop app to manage multiple accounts. I don’t need multiple timelines, just the ability to quickly switch between accounts so that I can make posts on the other WebUrbanists accounts when needed.

I’m currently using WhaleBird and ngl it’s a bit slow. I’ve also tried Sengi but it doesn’t suit my use case as this account is the only one that I browse timelines on.

I am currently using Mastodon's official app but I keep hearing about other apps that let you follow hashtags. Although I see the official app has added this to its IOS version, so I assume, at some point, the android app will get this feature too? But this would be a very handy feature to have.
