Teachers are speaking up about the influence of an online male movement known as the 'manosphere
on their classrooms.Some teachers say they have noticed a rise in misogynistic attitudes among students, and have experienced physical intimidation and verbal abuse.
The Australian Secondary Principals' Association says the influence of the manosphere is a 'worrying trend', but has emphasised most students do the right thing and most classrooms are safe.Jess* (name has been changed) has been a high school teacher for 12 years and has recently witnessed a rise in misogynistic attitudes.
'[We're receiving] comments such as, 'Best way to keep your woman in line is with a whip', Nazi salutes, Epstein jokes [referencing the sex offender], questions … directed to the teacher about their sexuality or personal comments,' she said.
Jess believes some of the student behaviours have been influenced by the 'manosphere'.
The manosphere describes a community of online influencers and content creators who see men and boys as 'victims' of gender equality and aim to reassert patriarchal and traditional gender roles.

- Democratic Rep. Yassamin Ansari is urging the House Oversight Committee to investigate the Tate brothers' connections to individuals in the administration's orbit, including Barron Trump.
- Ansari specifically requested Barron Trump testify about his knowledge or involvement with Andrew and Tristan Tate, who are accused of sexual abuse and trafficking.
- The manosphere influencers were arrested in Miami following a U.K. extradition request for serious trafficking and sexual abuse allegations, with the White House not expected to block their extradition.
- But Barron Trump was reportedly a fan of Andrew Tate and spoke to him over Zoom in 2024, according to The New York Times. Donald Trump Jr. also reportedly met Tate at Trump Tower in 2017, and Alina Habba, a former attorney to the president who briefly served as the top federal prosecutor in New Jersey, described herself as a “big fan” during a January 2025 podcast appearance.
- Ansari is also seeking records from the Department of Justice and State Department regarding communications between U.S., British, and Romanian authorities concerning the Tate brothers' investigation and extradition.
