  1. Lionel Shriver plays hate bingo

With a book to peddle she is after publicity and has let rip with some gammon bait for a bit of free press coverage. What other hate tropes can she add to her collection?

Pandering to the gammon munching moanerati is proving to be very easy for her.

  5. Read my ★★★★★ review of Lionel Shriver's "The Mandibles," a day-after-tomorrow dystopian thriller which shows in nauseatingly realistic detail exactly how America could devolve into a state of lawless anarchy and no infrastructure in the space of a single decade, through such innocuous details as us going off the gold standard back in the '70s or ringing up a national debt no one thought we'd ever have to pay off. goodreads.com/review/show/5312

  7. I'm reading for my #bookclub The New Republic by Lionel Shriver, I've read about 40%. It's a satire about journalism and terrorism (more journalism at least in the first half that I've read so far), set in the fictional land of Barba, south of Portugal. I'm finding it quite difficult to read. The main character is bitter and judgemental but somehow I wish him good... Has anyone read it? #bookstodon #TheNewRepublic #LionelShriver @bookstodon
