Trying out this new app Libib (should be around for all phones) to keep track of my book and DVD/Blu-ray collection, mostly to make sure I don't re-buy things at thrift that I already have. Tried it out briefly, promising so far. Clean UI, easy setup & scan in, organizable, etc. Liking it.

I really like having a project. There were the times I mapped the cities of Mosul, Erbil and Slimani, or the time I listened to everything ever on Factory Records (Manchester). Currently indexing every book I own, and discovering how many (lots!) were printed before 1970, is fascinating. #libib

I have been using #Goodreads for way too long. It is time for something different. Nice-to-haves would include an Android app that can scan barcodes and add to categories, Goodreads import, support for both #Dewey and #LibraryOfCongress systems, integration with #Calibre, and ability to keep my reading and library info private. I've seen #libib and #LibraryThing recommended. #BookWyrm too, though I'm looking more for personal categorization than social sharing. Suggestions? #AskFedi

I only realised in the last week that my books (of which I have never knowingly relinquished a number of) are an autistic collection.
I have for example,a repair manual for a Renault 19 (which I collected out of a crashed car) and a UK 1997 Countrywide train timetable, which I used.
I'm not giving them up.
Or any others.
When I have finished cataloging them I will post my library.
