I don’t think I’ll be able to change my pronunciation of her name to ‘Shar-day’.
The song is in the pantheon.

I think it’s intriguing when musicians appear in unexpected settings and especially when someone I had perceived as a pop star appears as a band member. Examples?
Not so long ago I learned that Rene Neufville from Zhanè fame was a member of Roy Hargrove’s Hardgoove.
Or when Ray Parker Jr. (Ghostbusters) played with the Crusaders (saw them live). -
@steffenrosskopf
I became aware of him, when I saw him with Hardgroove live at a small festival. Later, I learned about his involvement with the #Soulquarians.
His collaboration with D’Angelo is among the best music I know of. -

Ich denke ich muss besser aufpassen, wann die #Heavytones mal in der Gegend sind.

Head to the Sky is to me their first album that sounds like the Earth Wind and Fire that I know. Even better are the more pronounced latin percussion and the guitar solos.

The 80s Were... Weird.... About the Saxophone by Sound Field and Lucia Sarmiento
So, I had saxophone lessons in the early 80s (never really learned it).
I distinctly remember reading an article about the omnipresent saxophone solo of the 80s. Nice to get confirmation.I still love the saxophone!
The one thing missing in this video is Sade.

On my way back home from the Arrested Development concert. I’m flashed. It was even better than I’ve expected. They are one great live act.
I just love HipHop acts that bring their live band.I’d say about 1/5 to 1/4 of the audience haven’t experienced them when they started cause they weren’t born yet.

This one has stayed with me for the last >30 years. Then, it was good music and extended my horizon. Now, that I know more about the collaborators, I’m even more impressed.

I respect them for their musicianship but their own material is to hard for my taste. So here is something I like.

So I had this created by MS Copilot (my work account).
In order to get ther, I fed it my >400 #l8n8music posts and iterated a few times. I probably wouldn’t have been able to do that myself because I’m not able to cut the list down so far. And of course I always think ‚oh, this song should also be on the list‘ but wouldn’t decide what to remove for it. -

Betty Davis: Queen of Funk
Unveiling the Legends: Dolls of the 60s & 70s
Emma Rosa Katharina & Abigail DevoeI had mostly skipped Betty Davis so far because I’m wary of that much sexuality in music. That was a mistake in her case. Thanks!
Today I took the time to listen to her essentials at least. -

I probably haven’t heard this song for decades. Here it is with a niche jazzy twist and a good band. There is a whole album where this comes from.

That’s a throwback for me I’ve seen them there over 20 years ago. Think it was in 2003. it could have been 1999 but I think I remember The Seed.
