Remaining restrictions are I can’t lift > 3Kg for another 2 months due to risk of developing a hernia. No public transport/long travel or crowds unmasked (2 months also).

Got 2 ultrasounds coming up got other potential issues which are unrelated (gall bladder, urinary tract/giant prostate BPH

Was always due to return to Poitiers this week for my first weekly 07:30 follow up, but pulled up to Monday because I didn’t like the look of my wound site yesterday (Yellow around it and it wasn’t bruised before).

Better safe that sorry when comes to immunosuppression and possible infection.

I’ll be back a week later for follow up which is a whole thing in itself, including home 24hr urine collection which you take 2 small samples of to your appointment. Have to arrive 07:30 & I am 2 hrs away 😩 Luckily I get a free taxi since I am not allowed to drive for a month. Weekly appointments for the first 3 months, fortnightly for 3 months more, once a month for the rest of the first year. Update: Yesterday last IV out. Today double J catheter out; put in to aid urine flow post transplant. Worst experience of pain so far. 3 folks in a row trying. It has a magnet on it which is meant to lock on so it can be pulled out of U know where. No joy twice. 3rd time was a charm using a scope with pincers in it.
Saw dietician after.
AFAIK final thing is a kidney ultrasound and if ok leave Friday afternoon for home.

We had Ripley's monthly visit with the #kidney docs today. Every month I joke that we won't be back next month because a kidney will become available and she let me know that they've been averaging one #KidneyDonation a month for the rest of the kids who get dialysis there. All deceased donors (this is why it's important to register!) but they've been able to take a kid off of dialysis every month since April, like clockwork. Just knocking that list down until we get to Ripley 😂
