  1. Today, June 18, marks 3 years since I started dialysis while waiting for a kidney transplant.

Dialysis keeps me alive, but it isn’t a cure. I’m still waiting for the call that a matching kidney has been found.

  3. A personal update: I stepped back from writing for much of last year to avoid burnout. I’m hoping to return to it soon, but my priority right now is helping my partner, their son, and their puppy rebuild their lives after escaping a manipulative and abusive situation.

Life remains complicated on my end as well, and I’m still searching for a living kidney donor while continuing dialysis.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support us.

  4. Happy Thördæg! Be merry and well, friends. May your tables overflow with good food, your company be warm, and your soundtrack badass. Offerings: a good drink, a comfy seat, shared meals, loud laughter, and companions worth keeping. And blessings to everyone on dialysis or waiting for a transplant.

  15. Which interventions help ameliorate one of the most frequent symptoms that people with #ESKD suffer from?

    Cochrane gives some answers.

Next step: ask yourself if they play a role in our current every-day #dialysis practice?

  16. Brillian text on #PROM in #CKD and #ESKD.

My bet on #swift outcomes: 1) QoL-complaints will be high.
    2) Interventions won‘t show any effect, because having ignored PROMS for 30+ years means we have little or no tools at all to adress these issues in current SoC.
    3) such tools are rehab, exercise, psychological support, social support and transplant - and they are all heavily under-utilised.
