My publisher promoted my book the other day and it was so lovely seeing the cover there on the screen, I thought, 'I should share it more often.'

So here I am, sharing it.

Alt-Ctrl was published in September 2019 and since then, so much has happened and changed in the world, but thing I wanted most to say with this story is that in times of desperation, when corporations are all-powerful and you think you can't do without them because they control so much of your life, the answer might lie in being brave, and relying on each other. Seems timely, no?

I don't know if I did that successfully, and when it came out, I was so embarrassed to promote this little book because what if people hate it and think it's stupid and think I'M stupid but six years later, such a lot has changed, and I don't think it's stupid... and even if other people do, I'm kind of OK with that.

clover, but that doesn’t seem to be an option here (Pennsylvania). The borders used to be formal gardens that I have allowed to start naturalizing. In those: rudbeckia (multiple varieties), bee balm, cone flower, phlox, common milk weed, Shasta daisy, coreopsis, Siberian iris, more violets 🤷‍♀️, tulips, sedum, hellebores, cinnamon fern, hosta, banana ligularia, and astilbe. As the non-natives die out, I will replace them with natives.

I mess around with embroidery VERY slowly. I’ve been working on this piece for over 30 years. It’s about 8” across. It’s taking forever because I’m using rayon thread (which has a sheen to it) for the feathers and rayon is a real bugger to work with. I work it for awhile, get frustrated, put it away, reboot.

I know I'm supposed to use hashtags to assure people looking for that kind of content can find it, but a lot of the time all I can think of is #IWroteThis and I just don't see that hashtag getting much traction.

Instead of graduating from Raffi or Barney to Michael Jackson, I graduated from Psalty The Singing Songbook to Michael W. Smith and Petra, until my thirst for ‘harder-edged’ rock eventually led me to discover Stryper and P.O.D.
