It was October 2007, and I was in Cobh to photograph the game between Cobh Ramblers and Dundalk FC. The visitors were beaten 1-0 but Chris Bennion stopped this attempt on goal.
I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve photographed a football game, but this was the first one, a long time ago!

My son went into the biggest shopping center in #ireland today and not one shop sold a #LeagueOfIreland jersey. He could get an array of shirts from England, Spain, Italy and Germany, but not one Irish one. How can they hope to develop the game in this country if you can't even get the national champions jersey. It's great Brian Kerr has been brought onboard for the Irish set-up. He wasn't given a fair chance at the Irish job and even though it didn't happen for him he should have been kept on even at youth level in an advisory role. That goes for Stephen Kenny also, yeah he didn't get it right at senior level but he has a good philosophy of how the game should be played. The #FAI needs to try to retain people like that instead of losing them out of #irishfootball
