Benion makes a save

It was October 2007, and I was in Cobh to photograph the game between Cobh Ramblers and Dundalk FC. The visitors were beaten 1-0 but Chris Bennion stopped this attempt on goal.

I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve photographed a football game, but this was the first one, a long time ago!

My son went into the biggest shopping center in #ireland today and not one shop sold a #LeagueOfIreland jersey. He could get an array of shirts from England, Spain, Italy and Germany, but not one Irish one. How can they hope to develop the game in this country if you can't even get the national champions jersey. I had a feeling Elverys might have them but nope, they have a Chicago bulls top, but no league of Ireland merchandise at all. #football #soccer #Irishfootball
