My wife stumbled across her dad's old Instamatic camera, and discovered it still had film in it, which we worked out has been in the camera since at least 1983. Found a local place that still develops 126 Kodacolor cartridges (Picture Perfect Photo Lab, Albuquerque), and not expecting much, took it in.
To my eye, the negatives are just a weird green with a few barely-visible streaks. But after digitizing and doing some heavy processing in Darktable and Gimp, I was able to get a identifiable image out of every frame.
Can't complain given the film was exposed over 40 years ago and has been sitting in the hot garage and who knows what other environments since then.

Farfar skaffet seg et veldig enkelt Agfa #Isolette i da han var i tysklandsbrigaden. Isolette var et mellomformats belgkamera, selvsagt uten avstand- og lysmåler. Dette kameraet brukte han til seint 70-tallet og ga langt bedre bilder enn #Instamatic o.l. de brukte senere.

@wolf Ach verdammt, muss sowas ähnliches sein wie die #agfarapid "Rapid"-Filme/Patronen, die Agfa damals "im Westen" am Statt hatte? Die kenne ich leider nur vom Hören her. Leider.
In die Rapid-Patronen konnte man aber zumindest relativ leicht konventionellen Kleinbildfilm reinkurbeln, genau wie bei den 126er #instamatic Kassetten (auch Kodak u.a).
Hm... ja, mal gucken, ob Kleinbildpatronen angepasst werden könnten wär ne Lösung. Oder eBay Kleinanzeigen etc. abjklappern.. da hab ich öfter schonmal Glück mit "Ersatzteilnachschub" gehabt. -
