    Can mangroves survive another strong EL Niño?

    This #GeoLog shares some good news: after decades of decline, #mangroves are growing back in parts of the world, thanks to restoration and natural regrowth. But it's not all good news - places like the Niger Delta are still losing mangroves fast, and a strong EL Niño this year could put even the recovering areas at risk⚠️.

    Each holds a heathland sample where scientists control CO2, temp, #rain, wind and light, while tracking soil #water, CO2 and nutrients.
