Gerade noch einen interessanten Bug in #Dell #iDRAC gefunden. Wenn man PowerEdge R6515 auf 7.30.x iDRAC updatet, hat er nur noch 10 % seiner Rechenleitung 🙄 Wenn man dann in den iDRAC Einstellungen Power Target auf Performance und Lüfte auf +50 % setzt ist alles wieder OK.

Packed up my T430, moved it to new house, installed.

The iDRAC now cannot display power data. It can display the air & CPU temps (21 & 49 C).

No config changes, no updates (no license), but mysteriously no data.

Could I have shaken loose an actual physical connection in the truck?

If you have less than 8 characters, it tells you to use "at least 8". If you have 8 characters, it is happy. If you type 9 characters it tells you that you have too many characters.

Guys, I'm a HP person, meaninh: working mostly with hardware from this co. Now I have an old #Dell #PowerEdge R350, in some other part of the world to administer. I have access to all network resources, passwords, ppl who might help for simple tasks on location, but no it expert.
I need a KVM on the host machine to install proxmox. I wandered through the mazes of Dell's websites and acvountsz but they couldn't help me to buy a license for the #idrac, that allows me to use KVM console. Is there a person who's able and willing to help me? Someone who knows how to get the license and how to install it?

Anyone with a #homelab have a #homeserver with #dell #idrac 8 and been able to get alerts set up? I tried setting up email alerts, didn't work. Soni tried remote syslog to syslog-ng, and it also didn't work. I don't know what else to try.

After updating #BIOS and #iDRAC and other firmware to the latest on my #Dell server, #XCPng 8.2.1 won’t start any virtual machines. The VMs previously ran just fine. The console now claims, “failed: hvm is required for this operation.” The server CPUs support VT-x and it is enabled in the BIOS.

This is an extremely frustrating #homelab experience.

Look, I don't want to be all "back in my day" but back in my day we never had to worry about ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH errors trying to attach to our servers remote access board - i can't even remember if it was https -- it was a separate full height board.

@marcan yeah, #Dell #iDRAC - even the #Enterprise licensed version - is bad.

I prefer the #Supermicro-#LOM / #IPMI based on an #AST2400...

Only advantage is that the iDRAC can update UEFI & itself.
