Finally the house has cooled down enough... for me to feel like boiling a pan for half an hour... so after 2 weeks in the fridge... my #GingerBug is finally going to be used for the 1st time... I'm starting off my first ever #GingerBeer #fermentation 🫚🏺

I really wanted to use my #GingerBug to make my first ginger beer today... but it felt too hot to boil a pan of water for half an hour if I didn't need to... so I'll have to wait a few more days...

I've started my ginger #fermentation adventures... with my first ever #GingerBug #Day1... using the sleeve from an old favourite shirt as the cover... looking forward to my own homemade ginger beer soon... I might start some pickled ginger later... as I got loads of cheap ginger...

Ginger bug & turmeric bug (hopefully). They are basically starters (like you have with a sourdough starter) which you can then make probiotic sodas out of. I don't drink alcohol anymore so wanted to try making some more interesting drinks as most soft drinks are too sweet #gingerbug #fermentation

Been experimenting with homemade ginger beer. This is my third attempt and I think I finally got it right this time. Just assembled batch number 3 from this ginger bug.

Day 6 of my #GingerBug, and it was fizzing away nicely, so I started a batch of #GingerBeer from it. A few days of primary #fermenting and it should be ready for bottling and secondary fermenting 🤤

I made #MapleSyrup #GingerBug this week.
Day 1: aerobic fermentation
Day 2: capped, let it get fizzy, then had some in the evening. It was nice and fizzy but still overly sweet.
Day 3: Left in the fridge. Went flat. Still sweet, but more spicy.
Day 4: Left out on the counter. Still pretty flat but had bubbles on the surface in the jar. More spicy than sweet, but still sweet. Most of the maple flavor is gone, unfortunately. Boozey. -
