  1. Static #eportfolio sites for students would be nice, too (or #SolidProject pods or #ATProto PDS sites), at least for college students developing their professional identities. Combining that w/chat, social networking and #OpenBadges is a better foundation than building everything around an enterprise #LMS gradebook. Need better moderation and #E2EE privacy controls though. Have your students vibe code their own final exams in the meantime while Canvas is down ;)

  2. Allison Miller has been an advocate for #portfolio work for many years, leading the ePortfolios Australia community of practice. But she's also an educator, company director, and lifelong learner. In her interview for our podcast 'Create. Share. Engage.' Allison shares her views on the #ePortfolio, why it is important and how organisations and individuals can get started with it and overcome initial hurdles. 3. 2023 ICT survey results from Academic eXchange for Information Environment and Strategy (), ICT Utilization Research Subcommittee.

For both the campus and Japanese universities, include as a top five requirement for adoption.

I wonder if these preferences are similar with other nations' institutions?

  4. The #ePortfolio has been around for a while, but has often only been used in small ways at organisations. Terry Rhodes is happy to see more and more higher ed institutions making it a core part of their offering to their students because they see the benefits. That also means that it's receiving funding and support. It's still a long way to go to establish it more widely, but there is progress. Listen to his interview on 'Create. Share. Engage.' in your #podcast app or at podcast.mahara.org

  5. New #podcast episode alert: Episode 32 of 'Create. Share. Engage.' is available. Terrel Rhodes (AAC&U), a pioneer in the use of #ePortfolio, shares why he regards them so highly. Listen in your #podcast app or at podcast.mahara.org

  6. Sigi Jakob-Kühn, a German pioneer in #ePortfolio practice at school, has 3 main words for #portfolio work: collect, create, and share. Listen to her interview for 'Create. Share. Engage.' in your #podcast app or at podcast.mahara.org

  7. @Br3nda typically #Mahara is run by an institution, e.g., here at The University of Waikato we offer students the ability to create an #ePortfolio on our Mahara server (although it's hosted for us by Catalyst) eportfolio.waikato.ac.nz/

  8. E-portfolio’s in het Hoger Onderwijs
Ik kreeg gisteravond een déjà vu. SURF heeft weer eens een publicatie geschreven (pdf) over e-portfolio’s. Wat is de kern van deze publicatie?

  9. The revamped architecture design #ePortfolio allowed Alberto Pugnale and Sofia Colabella (University of Melbourne) to get to know their students better, and therefore supporting them better. Find out how they've accomplished that in their interview for 'Create. Share. Engage.' that you can listen to in your favourite #podcast app or at podcast.mahara.org

  11. While we may not have had the #ePortfolio half a century ago, the #portfolio was well on its way to help students demonstrate their learning as Bobbi Kamil shares in her interview for 'Create. Share. Engage.'

You can catch it in your #podcast app and at podcast.mahara.org

  12. An integral part of #portfolio work is the critique, i.e. providing insightful feedback that supports the author in their learning. It's not criticising their work. Know the difference. John Ittelson talks about this and other aspects of working with #ePortfolio in his interview for 'Create. Share. Engage.' Listen in your #podcast app or at podcast.mahara.org

  13. "the coding interview is the result of the vast majority of candidates refusing to have any sort of public portfolio code they can show off in 30-60 minutes"

This surprises me. I always envisioned blogs as one kind of e-portfolio and GitHub as another. If it's not happening (at least for GitHub), why do we think that is?
