It's fun sometimes hearing how even their cultists are turning against them. Here's how a bunch of former MAGA types are talking about Donald now:
    youtube.com/watch?v=dG0C99bqahc

The creator of that video monitors far-right spaces and curates the backlash against the fash from within its former base. I find it useful to keep track of how they're expressing feeling betrayed as they become disillusioned, as I can reflect that language when talking with them.

Similarly useful is reading how gamers and PC builders comment on Louis Rossmann, GamersNexus (especially GNCA), and SomeOrdinaryGamers videos, as their audiences strongly overlap the set Musk got to vote against Harris in Nov 2024. Their anger at anti-repair, anti-ownership ("you'll own nothing"), everything-as-a-subscription, #enshittification, #ensloppification, and exhorbitant RAM and SSD prices is useful, and that language should be studied by leftist/progressive #Democrats, the #WFP and #DSA, the #NDP (in Canada), and their counterparts elsewhere.

Anyone have sources for the rhetoric they're using when they turn against Bezos or the other oligarchs they previously supported?

  6. @Thcoudreau @johncarlosbaez Yes, it's called fast-track #Enshittification.

We saw the same thing with #Mozilla (#Firefox) recently.

I won't hold my breath, but chances are we'll also see #ensloppification of #arXiv soon.

  11. Let's take #windows11 as an example. I'd say its a victim of #ensloppification since
#ai is the main contributor of making it worse and worse by forcing it into and even allow it to write code used in #windows.

In other terms like privacy or performance it always was garbage by design, so hard to put it into #enshittification (making it worse there too to say) category. That said previously calling it a victim is quite an odd thing to say...

  15. I believe we reached a point where it might be worth dividing between #enshittification and #ensloppification.

  20. #Browsers are so frustrating. I've been trying to make myself use #Vivaldi. And it's fine. Truly, it's fine. I don't really like chromium based browsers. I haven't gotten past that. But again, it's fine.

Until I need to use it for a site that has many ads. Then it falls apart. Manifest v3 changes mean that even with #ublock, most of the garbage is there. Back to #Librewolf (or #Zen or other #Firefox based browsers) until #Mozilla #ensloppification renders them unusable.

  25. #Mozilla seems to be going all in on #ensloppification as a core feature of #Firefox. I have used #Thunderbird as my email client for years. I'm wondering how long it is until I need to start looking for an alternative desktop email client.

  30. I use the MS Outlook Android app for my email (not my first choice, but there are reasons). I have zero interest in its Copilot features, so I dug through the settings and found the one to disable them.

A few weeks later, the Copilot buttons reappeared, so I disabled them again.

Just now that dreaded Copilot icon appeared in the UI AGAIN. Managed to disable it yet again, but WTF Microsoft?! Take the hint!

  36. Republicans Try to Cram Ban on AI Regulation Into Budget Reconciliation Bill

    404media.co/republicans-try-to

Not satisfied with how shitty and exploitative AI is today, the GOP wants to make sure that AI is even more shitty and exploitative in the future. I wonder if this has anything to do with all the technology oligarchs who were at Trump's inauguration? 🤔
