This is way outside my usual wheelhouse. It's a food review.
So, #Loblaw and its umpteen variants and brandings have a new series of President's Choice potato chip flavours. It's called the "Canadian Series" in their "World of Flavours". Trying to cash in on the newfound Canadian patriotism, I guess.
I don't remember all the flavours. There's poutine, of course, though I haven't bought that one.
There's "Halifax Donair", which I did try. Was not impressed. Kind of a mystery meat-ish base flavour with some not-too-specific seasonings on top. I really like donairs, but this didn't remind me of it very much.
The other one I bought was "Spicy Caesar". I like the cocktail, but I was worried that this one would end up tasting like ketchup chips (which I dislike) with a bit of something else added. I was pleasantly surprised; it doesn't taste of ketchup chips. The tomato tastes like actual tomato juice. Presumably there's a note of clam in there, though it's too subtle for me to pick up. There's definitely some celery salt (or at least celery root) flavour. And there's a little spice kick to it, like tabasco (and maybe worchestershire). Surprisingly good!
So, cocktail-flavoured potato chips: works, at least for this cocktail.

The Halifax donair, a Canadian twist on the doner kebab, features spiced ground beef, onions, tomatoes, and a sweet sauce, all wrapped in a pita. First created in the 1970s, it's now Halifax's official food! 🥙🇨🇦 Learn more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donair #Donair #HalifaxFood #Canadian #Cuisine #food #cookin #good2knw

Massive bidding war for a donair costume is continuing in #Alberta. Fun Fact: The costumewas at BunMum’s disposal when it was at her department originally, but she opted not to wear it..
Another odd fact: Edmonton could be the donair capital of Canada with over 100 donair shops and more offered at restaurants, rivalling Halifax, which is the birthplace of the #donair.

Apparently a couple of restaurants are trying to outbid each other for this #donair #costume. Though there's mainly 2 restaurants, 1 in #Alberta & 1 in #NovaScotia doing most of the bidding. It had a starting bid of $50 and quickly ballooned to over $10.5k now, this is getting ridiculous...
