Question to the #DenshaDeGo fans around here:
I want to play the PC version of DDG Final (with the english translation patch) on my Steam Deck (via Proton), and it seems to run pretty well so far, except for two little quirks:
1. Instead of the intro, it just shows a test pattern (it plays fine on my laptop using WINE)
2. The game runs in the Steam Deck's native 1280x800, but draws a black border around the image, like it's trying to compensate for overscan.How do I solve those?

One thing I never see a casual player do is turn off the headlights for oncoming trains, then turn them back on when the front cab has passed. It's a good source of bonus points, plus just common courtesy!

When the game starts throwing you speed restrictions and speed traps and speed zones and bridges and rail fans and trackside workers it can get pretty hectic!

Most players look at the stopping point straight ahead of them or count down the stopping distance to gauge their stop, but you're actually supposed to align the stop marker with the left edge of the left monitor!

Finally, after approx 20 years, the Switch version of the Japanese train driving game Densha de Go has a new hardware controller. While the JÜ only Zuiki-made controller it is not as glorious as the hard-to-find PS2 Shinkansen controller, I can recommend it as a solid add-on for the Switch game. It’s just more fun to play like that, always was.#DenshaDeGo #retrogaming of sorts

Samstag Löt Projekt, Umbau eines N64 NTSC SVideo Kabel zu ein PAL SVideo Kabel. Einlöten von 75Ohm Widerstände und 220uF und 68nF Kondensatoren. SVideo ist leider das beste, was man aus einer N64 PAL Konsole bekommt, Konsole kann kein RGB. Das analoge SVideo Signal wird mittels GBS-Control Pro Upscaler auf HDMI gewandelt, und dann am TV dargestellt.
