Anyone bought Lidl's SilverCrest 20-litre dehumidifier and had good results with it?

I have an inkling that our #dehumidifier is broken. It must be circa 8 years old so has done sterling work. On the other hand... Dagnabbit.

Hey science nerds: How much is my dehumidifier actually helping if it's outlet just runs into the far end of the bath?
That trail of water does end up in the drain, but presumably it's an evaporation-path along the way.
I should buy a longer tube I guess.

Me: Asks dr duck duck go: why does the #dehumidifier in our basement (which I’ve mostly ignored for 5+ years) suddenly have ice on the top?
Ddg: You’re supposed to check and clean the filter monthly.
Me: there’s a filter!? Oops. #adulting #shockedPikachuFace

#dehumidifier has changed the laundry game. Wouldn't be without it. Although I do wish I had a dedicated room for it - my flat is starting to feel quite cramped

If you are looking for a #Dehumidifier that isn't awful, check out the #Midea 50 pint. We just moved into a 200 yo house with a porous granite basement including a small stream and this thing is a _champ_. Keeps the basement at 63% humidity no problem. Amazing.
Midea 50-Pint CUBE Smart Dehumidifier with Pump, 3X More Water Capacity, ENERGY STAR MOST EFFICIENT for up to 4,500 sf

I bought a #Frigidaire #dehumidifier a couple of years ago. It was recalled, so they sent another. That one broke, so they replaced it. Two week ago, it failed. So I bought a #Midea. It arrived yesterday. It ran all night and not a drop came out. The company says to send it back. Are there ANY reliable home dehumidifiers?

Our #dehumidifier pulls 8 litres of water out of the air per day and the humidity stays 60-65%.
I have no idea if that is good, bad or what.

Why is nobody creating dehumidifier hashtags? How can I search for, or follow, all the important dehumidifier action in the fediverse without hashtags? -
I think I did a good thing getting a proper #dehumidifier. The thing brought down the humidity from 80% to nearly 50% on day 1. EcoAir, 7.5 litres a day. The little ones I tried before did pretty much nothing.
Costs though - 300W/£2.50 a day, but it turns itself off automatically when the set level is reached; will just have to keep an eye on the bill next month.

I got a #dehumidifier a couple of days ago and I'm already starting to wonder how I lived so long without one. Absolute game changer #middleagedtoot

🚨 #PSA as we go into #winter remember to open all the windows in your house in the morning for a few hours in order to let fresh air in and #humidity out.
Otherwise you may create an environment for #mould to grow and are more likely to have chest problems.
#Dehumidifier ‘s and #plants in addition can help with the humidity.
If you’ve moved from a hot country to somewhere like Ireland this is something you won’t be used to and takes time to adjust.
