The storm seems mostly over; it was 20cm of heart-attack snow. I was out with the snowblower for about an hour and a half. It may have been the second-biggest storm of the winter.

It's not unheard of in April on the prairies - in the time I've lived here, I've seen snow on the ground in every month of the calendar except July - but this much is definitely mostly unwelcome. We traditionally start saying things like "... but the farmers will appreciate the extra moisture" when this happens.

NORTHLAND FORECAST FOR MARCH 10, 2026:

A flow of #moisture will bring a couple rounds of #snow #showers through the #Northland.

The first will impact areas around Highway 2 Monday night with a #breeze developing and low #temperatures in the upper teens and 20s.

We remain #dry during the daytime hours Tuesday with highs in the 30s. More snow showers pass through Tuesday evening and overnight.
