This has avoided many of the problems which plagued the Samsung, but (after three attempts at repair) still won't come up to pre-set temperature under the "Steam Bake" mode. Needless to say this is frustrating, as it's necessary to baby-sit the cooker until it actually hits the desired temperature.
I'm also finding that the steam bake reservoir is insufficient for baking bread at high temps (290C/550F), and fall back on an additional aluminium baking pan with about a quart of water for a typical bake. This largely evaporates during the pre-heat and baking periods.

19/03 – 07/09/2025 Museo di Roma in TrastevereIn mostra le immagini più spettacolari e le tante celebri figure artistiche apparse sulle pagine di Frigidaire, rivista fondata nel 1980 da Vincenzo Sparagna, Stefano Tamburini, Filippo Scozzari, insieme ad Andrea Pazienza, Tanino Liberatore e Massimo Mattioli.
Un’avanguardia culturale, unica nel suo genere, che attraversava trasversalmente arte, satira, musica, politica, letteratura, filosofia, fumetto e giornalismo.
L’esposizione – a cura di Vincenzo Sparagna e Frigolandia – vuole essere soprattutto occasione per riscoprire un progetto originale di racconto totale della contemporaneità, capace di esplorare, nella sua radicale libertà d’espressione, le trasformazioni culturali e sociali dagli anni ’70 fino ad oggi.
FRIGIDAIRE Storia e immagini della più rivoluzionaria rivista d’arte del mondo ospita dunque svariati esempi di Arte Maivista, definizione creata da Andrea Pazienza e Vincenzo Sparagna per indicare quell’arte imprevista, multipla, alta, bassa, media, pop e anti-pop, inventata, e pubblicata, dal 1977 in poi dalle riviste come Frigidaire, Cannibale, Il Male, Frìzzer. Queste riviste, tutte al principio originali esperimenti autonomi, sono divenute poi, non solo in Italia, dei modelli di comunicazione altra per l’originalità dei loro autori e collaboratori e dei loro trasversali contenuti.
La mostra, nell’intento di raccontare a un target vasto e trasversale la storia di Frigidaire, comprende oltre trecento opere: numeri iconici, copertine, tavole originali, grafiche, fotografie. Un percorso che raccoglie tutta la storia attraverso la grafica, le fotografie e i reportage che raccontano e ne attestano l’esperienza culturale che ha coinvolto e ancora coinvolge generazioni diverse. Un viaggio itinerante attraverso cui conoscere la storia di Frigidaire e del suo mondo che non smette mai di stupire, sfuggendo a qualsiasi banale classificazione. Una storia composta soprattutto da tutte le sue diverse anime: fumetti, grafiche ma anche reportage da tutto il mondo.
Trastevere e il suo museo segnano inoltre un ritorno alle origini, in quanto la rivista Il Male, nella quale si formò gran parte del nucleo redazionale di Frigidare, nasceva proprio in via della Penitenza.
Frigidaire esce in edicola nel novembre 1980. I fondatori sono il direttore Vincenzo Sparagna e i cinque fumettisti di Cannibale, Stefano Tamburini, creatore della prima gabbia grafica di Frigidaire, Andrea Pazienza, Filippo Scozzari, Massimo Mattioli e Tanino Liberatore. Il gruppo si è formato tra il 1978 e il 1980 nella redazione del settimanale satirico Il Male, celebre, tra le tante imprese, per l’invenzione di clamorosi falsi di giornali italiani e stranieri. Frigidaire allarga lo spazio di libertà conquistato con il Male, non è una rivista di settore o di genere, unisce cronaca e fiction, fumetti e reportage, letteratura, cinema, musica, teatro, satira e fotografia. Inoltre è una rivista aperta alle più diverse energie creative: da subito ai fondatori si aggiungono, dall’Italia e dal mondo, moltissimi collaboratori e collaboratrici, autori di fumetti e disegni, fotografi, reporter, scrittori, artisti. Segni, immagini e testi che raccontano, nei più diversi, e a volte sconosciuti, aspetti, le culture e le lotte sociali, politiche ed estetiche degli anni ’80 e poi dei ’90, fino alle straordinarie novità del 2000 e alle vicende tempestose degli ultimi decenni. Accanto a Frigidaire il gruppo ha creato nel tempo anche altre riviste: Frìzzer (1985/86), Tempi Supplementari (1985/86), Vomito (1985/94), Il Lunedì della Repubblica (1990/91), Il Nuovo Male (1995/96), La piccola Unità (2001/02) fino alla nuova serie de Il Nuovo Male dal 2011 ad oggi. Nel 2005 Frigidaire ha lasciato Roma e trasferito la redazione in Umbria, dove Sparagna ed altri hanno fondato in una ex Colonia vuota nel Comune di Giano dell’Umbria, la Repubblica di Frigolandia, terra di Frigidaire e città dell’Arte Maivista, il movimento immaginario seriamente beffardo creato nel 1985 su Frìzzer da Pazienza e Sparagna commentando gli inclassificabili disegni di quest’ultimo e l’arte di Frigidaire in generale. Dopo la nascita di Frigolandia, Frigidaire è tornato a uscire come una “rivista popolare d’elite di Arte Maivista” sempre diretto da Sparagna con la decisiva collaborazione alla grafica dell’artista Maila Navarra e la partecipazione di molti giovani talenti. La rivista è andata in edicola fino al 2017. Da allora, chiusa la maggioranza delle edicole, è distribuita solo agli abbonati o a chi ne fa richiesta. Molti fumetti e reportage di Frigidaire sono stati tradotti in paesi europei ed extraeuropei, dalla Francia alla Svezia, dal Brasile al Giappone, dagli Usa alla Grecia ecc. Negli ultimi anni mostre ed altre iniziative di Frigolandia si sono tenute in diverse città italiane. Nel 2017 l’Università di Yale ha acquistato per la sua Beineke Library una parte dell’archivio storico di Frigidaire e tutte le pubblicazioni del gruppo dagli anni ’70 in poi.
Un progetto vivo e che si rinnova grazie ai giovani che hanno partecipato a Frigidaire negli anni più recenti, specie dopo la fondazione in Umbria della Repubblica di Frigolandia, terra di Frigidaire, Museo/Laboratorio dell’Arte Maivista e redazione attuale della rivista. Questa durata nel tempo, pur difficile e piena di avventure, non è stata casuale, perché Frigidaire è stata concepita sin dal principio come una moderna Enciclopedia Illuminista cosmopolita, un’Antropologia del presente esplorata usando ogni tipo d’espressione e di linguaggio: racconto, cronaca, arte, fumetto, fotografia, musica, video.

We bought a Frigidaire fridge about 4 years ago and honestly the internals on this fridge are the worst. Multiple broken shelves, ice maker receptacle is cracked, and door shelves cracked. At the time we needed a fridge urgently and it was in our price range. The engineers for this model skimped on quality it appears. Don't buy a #Frigidaire.

Warranties can definitely be worth it on major purchases. Although the dratted refrigerator bought in July still hasn't ever gone below 52F and #factory #warranty people kept delaying the inevitable... three service calls, replacement parts, back-ordered parts. They got me off their back because now I'm waiting a call from the product replacement team. How many more weeks for that? #Frigidaire does not do quick corrective action for its consumers. YOYO. Never again will I buy that brand.
