I will attach a highly suspect message from Milwaukie cops which makes it sounds like they want the event canceled without saying they want the event canceled."

This event is hosted by Poison Waters who was doing the Drag Story Time in Tigard. There is a link to a Facebook post that goes into details about what is happening, I'll post that, too. I'll work on getting the screenshots for those who don't want to open an FB link.

UPDATE: the library has cancelled the event and chosen to close the entire library for the day. Unfortunately, this counts as a victory for the fash. I understand the fear, I truly do, but we cannot let them scare us into hiding, this is not the way! We stand up to hate, being scared into hiding only shows that violent posturing is an effective tactic for them. They've been given what they want, no drag story hour, and now no community library for the whole day. Libraries are hubs of services that are vital to many people.

If you're #Queer and live in a state like #Tennessee, #Florida, or #Texas you absolutely should be looking into arming yourself if you haven't already.

Look into leftist gun groups or trainers in your area, and ensure you can defend yourself.

Waiting till after the violent starts is far too late.

If you consider yourself an ally, you should probably consider what that will mean in the context of state repression and right-wing violence.
