Sometimes you’re just bored on a Friday afternoon and compose an entire album about pine trees along I-70.

Original music from one of the two albums I composed this year. Those Former Interstate Blues is about traveling the road and RiverFolk Tales is about traveling the canals.

Lost on the Road Back Home is probably my most requested song when I perform live in bars. Here’s a copy of it done in my distinct, purposefully “bad” recording style.

Rare Jack posting music moment. Cover of Jimmie Rodgers classic Waiting for a Train. On the 6 string banjo and recorded in the style of the song. It’s not bad audio - it’s purposeful audio to match how the song would have sounded in the time it was recorded.

Taking a poll with the people who interact with me to see what kind of my posting is what caused the most people to initially find me.

Being that I am an academic, I spent awhile distilling these 4 categories and I’m still not satisfied with them.

But let me know!

Best chorus I've written in awhile is:

I guess you must be doing mighty fine
Based on what your momma says on the line
Even though she asks me to send my royalties
Down to your account at the federal penitentiary

I made my Nashville debut for 3 minutes on NYE at my favorite honky tonk in the world - Robert’s Western World.

Very big moment for me to play on such a historic stage and this year in my life marks 2 decades since receiving my first guitar as a child.
