  2. CHERWELL COUNCIL RESULT

    Council seats:

    🟠 Liberal Democrats: 17 (+7)
    🔴 Labour: 13 (+1)
    🔵 Conservatives: 11 (-9)
    🟢 Greens: 4 (+1)
    ⚫ Independent: 3 (=)

    STAYS as no overall control.

Conservatives hung on to minority control here at the last election after Labour walked away at the last minute from a coalition deal with the Lib Dems and Greens to run the council together. 24 seats are needed for a majority.

  9. We often feel our vote makes no difference. But the people of Cherwell have the power, and a unique opportunity, to change their local government by voting tactically in the local elections on 4 May.
Cross-party activists in Oxfordshire have issued recommendations on who the voters should back to oust the Tories from Oxfordshire’s last Conservative-controlled council.
