What a weekend it has been! I was unsuccessful at getting elected to Cheshire East Council but successful being elected to Sandbach Town Council. Thank you to all those who voted for me. I won't let you down!

Amid all the justifiable excitement over #Lewes having got rid of all Tory councillors, I would just like to point out that #Oxford City Council has not had a single Tory for over 20 years. Not one. #LE2023 #LocalElection2023

Conservatives also lose control of Cherwell (N Oxfordshire, basically). Come on, Vale of the White Horse and S Oxfordshire - make my day

Even Ribble Valley, my maternal ancestral home, goes from Conservative to NoC, with several new Lab and Green councillors. Good stuff, rural Lancashire. #LE2023 #LocalElection2023 #RibbleValley

Lib Dems become the largest party in West Oxon, David Cameron's old constituency, cementing the LD, Lab and Green progressive alliance. Would be great to see the back of Cameron's Tory successor Robert Courts. #WestOxfordshire #LE2023 #LocalElection2023 #LibDems #ProgressiveAlliance https://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/23503709.elections-lib-dems-become-largest-party-west-oxfordshire/

Reform UK is on track for a “very disappointing” set of local election results - having made zero gains so far despite fielding nearly 500 seats.

Was anybody predicting that the Greens might win the most votes on East Herts Council? Still 2 seats to declare, with Greens one ahead.

Listening to coverage of the #LocalElection2023 from the UK.
My god am I grateful we have preferential voting in Australia, first past the post is infuriating.
And the turnout levels… makes me appreciate having compulsory voting.
Both are much more representative.

Love to see it. With only 16.9% of councils declared too. #LocalElection2023 #ToriesOut
