  1. Exciting news from Devon! Over 2,500 native trees have been planted at Bowden Pillars, marking the first step in creating a Celtic rainforest. This initiative by the Devon Wildlife Trust aims to restore a rare habitat, benefiting both wildlife and carbon storage. Kudos to the volunteers making this possible! 🌳🌿

"The 59-hectare site in #Pembrokeshire will be planted with species such as #oak, small-leaf lime and wild service (Sorbus torminalis) and should support an abundance of #mosses, #liverworts, #lichens and #ferns as well as providing a home for #animals and other plant life. Its southern tip will connect to remnants of the #CelticRainforest in the #GwaunValley while in the north it runs on to open #moorland."

  5. 2 weeks ago I was blissfully in Coed Felenrhyd! - ancient oak forest, 'ASNW' ancient semi-natural woodland, aka 'Celtic Rainforest' Atlantic oakwood.

I've wanted to go there for ages. Coed Felenrhyd! Even the name itself tastes beautiful to me. North Wales, on the edge of Eryri.

Oak-predominant biome lets so much light through, which makes it possible for rare moss & lichen. It feels like time itself heaps up within these green beings.
